Saucy Asian Meatballs

I didn’t hesitate to bookmark this recipe hen I saw it HERE. I am a huge fan of Asian style recipes, probably because I’m Korean. I’ve made several kinds of Asian style meatballs, but these were by far the best. The meatballs were so tender and it went perfectly well with brown rice.

These meatballs are homemade, with ground pork and ground beef together. I’d never mixed these two in a recipe so I was curious how it would turn out. And wow, the meatballs were so tender and tasty.

The sauce is really unique as it is made with Hoisin sauce. The sauce is thick and a little bit sweet. And fresh green onions make these meatballs more refreshing and Asian. 🙂

Sauce Asian Meatballs

I halved this recipe

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 cup Panko
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ cup thinly sliced green onions
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine all meatball ingredients in a large bowl. I use my kitchen aid to stir everything together to make sure everything is combined well. The meatballs turn really tender this way. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Meatballs are done when no longer pink inside.

  1. Stir together all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Pour over warm meatballs and gently stir until covered.
