I love making up my own recipes. I have been having so much fun experimenting in my kitchen lately. Though I am not an expert chef or a baker – I am always looking for a way to try new things and create a new recipe.
I love no bake cookies – the peanut butter and oatmeal kind. But since I love nutella and so does everyone else, it seems, so I tried using nutella instead of peanut butter and the result was amazing!
These also make a great gift – these were included in my holiday candy gift boxes last year. These are so quick and easy to make. Like the name says, no need to bake. How awesome is that?
No Bake Nutella Cookies
Follow the recipe exactly to get the best result in texture. Some people have contacted me saying their cookies turned out runny.
To get the nice, firmer texture, you should follow the ingredients and the recipe exactly. Too much liquid, too little butter, boiling too long or too little will make these cookies too dry or too runny.
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 stick butter
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 3 cups oatmeal
- Parchment paper or waxed paper
- In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil, the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Let boil for 1 minute then add nutella, vanilla and oatmeal. Stir well.
- On a sheet of parchment paper (or waxed paper), drop mixture by the teaspoonfuls,. Set aside until cooled and hardened, about 30 minutes.
